It’s intriguing to imagine the transition in human history when writing was first discovered. Many individuals, who had relied solely on traditional methods of information sharing, must have found this change quite unsettling. A shift from oral tradition to written communication marked a profound transformation.
In recent years, concepts like Metaverses and virtual reality have gained substantial attention, sounding like elements from science fiction. However, it’s essential to recognize that we have already entered this realm, and there’s no turning back. The COVID-19 crisis, much like historical pandemics such as the Spanish flu and the Black Death in 1348, expedited an inevitable process that had been in motion for centuries, if not millennia.
Freemasonry frequently delves into the past, often shrouded in allegorical mystique. However, this history serves as a powerful tool to understand that humanity has always been an integral part of this planet. Like all things, we experience the stages of birth, maturity, and, ultimately, death. Whether this represents the final rung of the ladder is uncertain, as that determination lies with each individual.
Personally, I am a believer. I hold the conviction that behind every final curtain, there is room for another bow to the audience, and perhaps even another encore. The mysteries of existence are vast, and the possibilities endless.
Over the past years, we have all faced difficult choices, given our best efforts, and learned valuable lessons. Now, the time has come for rebirth. To echo the words of our newly installed Grand Master, MW Luis A. Baez Delgado: ‘Let’s get back to work!’
