Star Wars movies by George Lucas are familiar to most of you. “May the Force be with you” is being said whenever someone leaves, facing a dangerous enterprise. But what is that Force? In Episode IV, Obi-Wan Kenobi explains the Force to Luke:
“The Force is what gives the Jedi his power. It’s an energy field created by all living things. It “surrounds us and penetrates us and binds the galaxy together.”
Quantum Physics teaches us that everything is energy. Even the largest solid material is nothing but concentrated energy, following certain rules.
Whenever energy is disturbed, it will return to harmony with those rules.
Pythagoras also describes his observation that every violent stir in nature will always return to a levelled equilibrium, calling it “the music of the spheres”.
Hellenistic Jews and early Christians refer to this phenomenon as “logos”, translated as “the word” in the beginning of Saint John’s Gospel. It is that harmonizing force which the Great Architect of the Universe sends to His Creation to bring it back into harmony.
At the Fellowcraft Degree we learn that by Geometry we may curiously trace nature through her various windings to her most concealed recesses and discover the power, wisdom and goodness of the Great Artificer. Geometry measures harmony and therefore serves as the symbol of the source of that harmony.

And what do we do with this wisdom about harmony and the Force? Again, Obi-Wan Kenobi shows us the way, in exhorting Luke when his father, Darth Vader, attacks: “Let go Luke … trust me.”
